Process before promises

Sports betting model methodologyA signal is earned.
Not manufactured.

SLS is built around a simple discipline: price the game, understand the market, and pass sport-specific gates before publishing an official recommendation.

01

Projection alone is not enough.

A raw projection can be informative and still be a poor betting decision. Sports Line Signal evaluates the distance between model and market while accounting for the reliability of both.

The final status reflects model output, available price, data quality, market sanity, and sport-specific decision rules.

The SLS workflow

From market board to member signal.

The methodology stays understandable while proprietary formulas, model weights, and licensed data relationships remain protected.

01

Market intake

Collect available moneyline, spread, and total prices, normalize the board, and establish a consensus market view.

02

Sport context

Add the inputs that matter to the league: availability, rest, expected performance, environment, and matchup-specific conditions.

03

Fair pricing

Generate projected outcomes and probabilities, then convert those estimates into fair prices that can be compared with the market.

04

Calibration

Apply historical controls and market-aware calibration so raw model disagreement is not mistaken for a trustworthy edge.

05

Decision gates

Evaluate edge size, required input quality, pricing integrity, and sport-specific restrictions before a recommendation is published.

06

Member language

Present one consistent customer vocabulary—SLS Recommendation, Best Lean, Slight Lean, No +EV at current prices, Signal pending, and Pricing soon.

SIGNAL BOARD LABELSCUSTOMER VIEW
SLS RecommendationOne of up to five official recommendations published for this sport and calendar date. It may also rank onto the entitlement-scoped SLS Big Board.
Best LeanThe strongest remaining positive-EV market when the matchup is not one of that sport/date's official SLS Recommendations.
Slight LeanA smaller positive-EV market that remains analysis, not an official recommendation.
No +EV at current pricesNo supported market currently has positive expected value at the listed consensus prices.
Signal pendingMarket prices are posted, but the current matchup classification is still being prepared.
Pricing soonA complete current model-and-market board is not ready yet.
One public language

The label tells you what SLS is—and is not—recommending.

The Signal Board uses one set of matchup labels across every league. Only SLS Recommendation is an official play. Best Lean and Slight Lean identify positive-EV analysis that did not clear the recommendation standard.

The board does not publish a separate input-quality grade. Data availability, freshness, price integrity, and sport-specific context are checked inside the decision process before an official recommendation can appear.

  • Market EV uses the listed consensus price
  • My EV uses the sportsbook price you save
  • Decision gates determine official recommendations
  • Every supported market stays visible

Final pregame is a timing tag, not a stronger signal. It means the last scheduled pregame snapshot was preserved for performance tracking and later grading.

Current coverage

Shared standards. Sport-specific intelligence.

Coverage expands as additional leagues complete model development, validation, data-quality checks, and launch review.

Transparency by design

The published record stays published.

An official SLS Recommendation is preserved with the market, line, price, and publication context used when it was released. Once graded, that result remains part of the public Performance record.

Later model improvements affect future recommendations rather than rewriting historical public outcomes. Earlier records retain the recommendation policy that applied when they were published, and missing historical periods are not filled with inferred customer recommendations.

Every supported market remains part of the SLS evaluation even when no worthwhile betting edge is available. A sport may publish zero official recommendations, and SLS does not manufacture selections to satisfy a daily quota.
