Kansas City Chiefs vs. Seattle Seahawks Pick: KC +3

Seattle’s offensive line has had a rough couple of weeks, allowing five sacks in each of its last two games. Now it gets Kansas City on Sunday night, and that matchup up front is a big reason we’re taking the Chiefs +3 at -120.

Kansas City’s defense has been doing more than keeping games respectable while Patrick Mahomes handles the rest. The Chiefs rank second in points allowed per drive, making opponents work for what they get. Against Seattle, they have an opportunity to disrupt possessions before Sam Darnold can settle in. He’s already thrown seven interceptions, and another night of pressure would put more on an offense that has struggled to protect him.

Getting Anthony Bradford back should help the Seahawks’ line. We’re not expecting Kansas City to collect sacks just because Seattle allowed them last week. But the Chiefs have been defending the run well, too, which gives them a chance to force the longer passing situations where those protection problems become harder to hide.

Seattle can make this uncomfortable for Mahomes as well. Its defense is allowing just four yards per play, and Kansas City will be without Rashee Rice and Jaylon Moore. Those are meaningful losses against this opponent. The Chiefs will need to stay patient, keep manageable down-and-distance and avoid letting Seattle’s front turn every possession into a scramble.

That’s why we prefer the points to the moneyline. We like Kansas City’s defense to keep Seattle from getting away, with Mahomes giving the Chiefs a chance to win it outright. Seattle deserves respect at home, but we’d rather have Kansas City and the full field goal in this matchup.
